Moodly ("Moodly", "we", "us", or "our") provides a mood and daily reflection app that helps users track their day, compare anonymous trends, share selected posts to a community feed, and privately chat one-to-one with other users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and what choices you have.
A core purpose of Moodly is to process completed check-ins together with other users' completed check-ins in order to generate community comparison results, show aggregated trends, and help surface people with similar moods or similar daily patterns. If you access or use Moodly, you should expect your completed check-in answers to be used for those comparison and matching purposes inside the app.
Moodly is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old. Because Moodly includes anonymous or pseudonymous community features and private chat, we require users to be mature enough to use these tools responsibly and lawfully. Moodly may ask for date-of-birth confirmation at the beginning of access or sign-in so the app can enforce this adults-only rule.
Moodly is designed to stay anonymous on purpose. We want users to feel freer to be honest with themselves, less pressured by the polished or performative side of the internet, and better able to create check-ins that can be compared with others in a way that feels more real and useful.

3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information.
A. With Other Users
- Your nickname, avatar, and content you intentionally share to the feed may be visible to other users
- Private chat messages are visible only to the participants in that conversation
- Feed posts and community comparisons may reflect your shared or aggregated activity without revealing your email
- Community results, comparison graphics, matching, and similar-mood features may reflect aggregated or processed check-in activity from you and other users without exposing your private login email

C. For Safety, Legal, and Enforcement Reasons
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, comply with legal obligations, or protect users, Moodly, or the public.
4. Anonymous and Public Features
Moodly is designed around pseudonymous use. Your visible identity in the app is based on your nickname and avatar.
- Content you choose to post to the feed becomes visible to the community
- Users you chat with can see your nickname, avatar, and the messages you send
- Report, block, and moderation systems may retain internal records for safety and enforcement
Moodly's comparison and matching features depend on completed check-ins being processed together in anonymous or pseudonymous form. By using the app, you understand that this kind of processing is part of the core service, even when your login email stays private.
Anonymous or pseudonymous use does not permit hate, racism, ethnic abuse, harassment, sexual misconduct, impersonation, or other abusive behavior. We may investigate and take action against accounts that misuse anonymity.
While Moodly offers moderation, reporting, blocking, and safety tools, we cannot guarantee that misuse by other users will never occur. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moodly and the people or company behind Moodly are not responsible for racist, ethnic, sexual, unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or otherwise harmful conduct carried out by third-party users.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Moodly may send daily reminders, chat request notifications, and message notifications. You can manage permissions in your device settings and inside the app where available.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain account history, support moderation and safety, and meet legal or operational obligations.
7. Your Choices
- Edit your nickname, avatar, and check-in content
- Choose whether to share a check-in to the feed
- Block users
- Report users or conversations
- Disable reminders or notifications
- Delete your account from inside the app, subject to any required re-authentication by Firebase Authentication
If you do not want your completed check-in answers processed for community comparison, aggregated results, or similar-mood matching inside Moodly, you should not submit completed check-ins through the app.

It is not directed to, marketed to, or intended for use by anyone under 18 years old, and is not intended for children under 13 within the meaning of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Moodly requires age confirmation before access is granted.
If a person under 18 nevertheless accesses or uses Moodly — including by circumventing, falsifying, or misrepresenting age-confirmation information — Moodly and the individuals or company operating Moodly accept no responsibility or liability for that access, for any content encountered, or for any harm resulting from it, to the maximum extent permitted by law. If we learn that a person under 18 has created or used an account, or that age-confirmation information is false or misleading, we will remove the account and associated content as soon as reasonably possible, and may require a different eligible account holder to use the service in the future.
Parents or guardians who become aware that a person under 18 has accessed Moodly should contact us at the email below so the account can be removed.
