Terms of Use

Moodly is an adults-only reflection, comparison, and private chat app. These terms explain who can use it, how anonymity may be used, and what behavior can lead to restriction or account removal.

18+ only. Anonymous features may not be used for hate or sexual harassment.
Effective date: May 8, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Moodly ("Moodly", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using Moodly, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Moodly. Because Moodly includes anonymous or pseudonymous posting, community comparison, and private one-to-one chat, the app is limited to adults only.

If you are using Moodly on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have authority to do so.

2. Your Account

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Take responsibility for activity that happens under your account

You may not share your account in a way that creates misuse, impersonation, or security issues.

3. Nature of the Service

Moodly is a self-reflection and community app that may include daily check-ins, anonymous or pseudonymous feed sharing, community comparison features, one-to-one private chat, and moderation tools such as relate, report, block, and request-to-chat actions.

Moodly is not a medical service, therapy service, crisis service, or emergency response service.

4. No Medical Advice

Moodly provides reflection, tracking, and community features only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support.

5. Community Rules

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Use hate speech, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, or violent threats
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Use another person's name, identity, or reputation in a negative, deceptive, or abusive way
  • Post misleading, fraudulent, or intentionally false content
  • Attempt to access another user's account or private data
  • Spam, scrape, disrupt, or abuse the app
  • Use Moodly in a way that violates law or the rights of others

6. Chat and Feed Conduct

Feed posts are visible to other users according to app rules. Chat is intended to be private and one-to-one between the relevant participants. You are responsible for the content you share in both areas.

We may provide tools such as request to chat, accept or decline request, delete conversation, delete person, block user, and report user or content.

These tools do not guarantee that all harmful behavior will be prevented or detected immediately.

You understand and agree that other users may misuse anonymous, pseudonymous, feed, or chat features in violation of these Terms. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moodly and the people or company that created or operate Moodly are not liable for harmful, abusive, deceptive, unlawful, or offensive acts committed by third-party users.

7. Moderation and Enforcement

We may review, restrict, hide, remove, or disable content or accounts when necessary to protect users or the app.

Because anonymity can be misused, we may act aggressively on behavior involving hate, sexual misconduct, impersonation, intimidation, coordinated abuse, or manipulation of community trust.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to Moodly. By posting or sending content through the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and moderate the service.

9. Privacy

Your use of Moodly is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and Changes

We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of Moodly at any time. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

11. Termination

You may stop using Moodly at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or misuse the service.

You may delete your account from inside the app, subject to any required re-authentication by Firebase Authentication. You may also contact support if you need help.

If we determine that a user is under 18 or has used the service in a way that creates serious safety risk, we may close the account and require a different eligible email/account to access Moodly in the future.

12. Disclaimers

Moodly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moodly and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

This limitation also applies to claims arising from misuse of Moodly by other users, including abusive messages, deceptive conduct, impersonation, hate speech, harassment, or other rule-breaking behavior, even where moderation tools, blocking tools, reporting tools, or account restrictions are available.

14. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction chosen by Moodly's operator, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date and provide notice through the app or by other reasonable means.
